New in 3.5.49.2. A new setting has been added to version 3.5.4.2 to allow a user to get a new learning record each time they complete the course. This setting is labelled When a user completes a course, the learning environment now displays a "Renew my learning record" link in the course itself (see screenshot below). This feature replaces the "Issue LRS record every completion" and is available in the "Completion Tracking" section of the course settings. If this setting is disabled, the user will only get a learning record the first time they complete the course, or if the previous learning record is expired. If this setting is enabled, the user will get a new learning record each time they complete the course.For example, let's assume setting that had to be configured by the course instructor or an administrator.Anchor 3542 3542
Let's assume for example that a user took the "Preventing Workplace Violence and HarassmentEmergency Codes" course in 2017 and that his learning record never expires2018. Let's also assume that an incident occurred at work at the this user is asked to take the course once more in 2019. If the "Issue LRS record every completion" is disabled, the user could take the course once more, but the LRS (Learning Record Store) would not generate a new learning record for this user. It would therefore be difficult for the user's manager to confirm that he indeed took the course. But with "Issue LRS record every completion" enabled, the system will generate a new learning record, which will then appear in the user's learning history.
. By clicking on this link, the learner will be able to clear all of his checkmarks in the course so he can attempt it again and get a new learning record. Once the user completes the course in its entirety, the learning environment will generate a new learning record and his manager will be able to confirm that he repeated the course.
Note the following:
- The "Renew my learning record" link only appears if a user has a valid learning record (e.g. non-voided, non expired).
- The link is not visible until 24 hours after the user has completed the course. This is to prevent users from accidentally clicking on the link immediately after they finish the course.
- The link will disappear once it is clicked on so that the user does not repeatedly click on it.
