To translate the course title and description:

  1. Go to the course in question

  2. Go to Course Administration > Settings

  3. Modify the course full name and course summary using mlang tags

    1. This is described in full in the Translating Web Pages article, but the same principle can be applied to the course full name, course summary and most other fields that are visible to learners

  4. Click on the "Save and display" button at the bottom of the page


To set up a section in that course that contains your English (or French) activities and resources:

  1. Go to the course in question

  2. Turn editing on

  3. Click on the "Edit topic" icon next to the first topic in the course

  4. Expand the "Restrict access" section

  5. Click on "Add restriction..."

  6. Choose "Language" from dialog box

  7. Specify the Language by choosing "English" in the drop down.

  8. Make sure the eye icon is struck through to completely hide the section to French viewers

  9. Click on the "Save changes" button at the bottom of the page

  10. Repeat the steps above to add a topic for the French training material

To add your training activities and resources:

  1. Go to the topic in question (the English topic for the English activities and the French topic for the French activities)

  2. Turn editing on if it’s not already on

  3. Add your activities as you normally would

To issue learning records:

  1. Go to the course in question

  2. Go to Course Administration > Course Completion

  3. Expand the "Condition: Activity Completion" section

  4. Select both the English and French activities

    1. When setting up your courses in a bilingual fashion this way, you can effectively only select 1 English activity and 1 French activity

  5. Select that “ANY selected activities to be completed” (see screenshot below)

  6. Click on the "Save Changes" button at the bottom of the page
