When course restrictions are enabled, a filter is applied to the course catalogue and the search results page. Courses that are restricted are not visible to learners who cannot access them and will not appear anywhere in the site for these specific learners (but will be visible for users who have access to them).
To restrict a course:
- Find the course in question using the course catalogue or search tool
- Once in the course, click on Course administration > Edit settings
- Set the Course ID number as per your convention to restrict or allow access to certain group

and in some cases, completely hide courses. The methodology will depend on the system in question and the use case you are trying to accomplish.
