The system allows you to define pre-requisites for a course, thereby (a) blocking users from self-enrolling for a course unless they meet the pre-requisites, or (b) in the case where an administrator manually enrolls users in courses, blocking them from receiving their learning record (e.g. green checkmark).

To define pre-requisites for a course:

  1. Go to the course in question (the one that will have pre-requisites)
  2. Go to Course Administration > Course completion. (If course completion is not visible, see "Tracking Completion".
  3. Under "Condition: Completion of other courses", select one or more courses.
  4. Select the right option under "Condition requires" (e.g. All or Any).
  5. Enable the "Restrict enrollment" checkbox.
  6. Click on "Save changes" at the bottom of the page.

Please note that define pre-requisites only blocks students from self-enrolling in a course. It does not prevent an administrator or instructor from enrolling students in a course (e.g. manual enrollment) nor does it prevent a program from assigning courses to users.
