By default, a user has to be enrolled in the course to view and/or select the session they want to attend. This is problematic because people have to enroll in the course to see if there are actually available sessions. This can cause issues with users who have to pay for the course using PayPal only to find out after they've paid for the course that they cannot make any of the sessions due to the date or venue of the upcoming sessions.
As such, it is possible to display the list of upcoming sessions in the course description, which is available to users before they enroll in the course. It is also possible to let people sign up for sessions at the same time that they enroll.
To display the sessions in the course description:
- Go to the course in question
- Click on Course Administration > Edit Settings
- In the course description field, enter {filter_facetoface} (with the curly braces) wherever you would like to display the list of upcoming sessions.
- Click on the save button at the bottom of the page.
By following the steps above, the learning environment will replace the {filter_facetoface} text string with a table listing all of the upcoming sessions. This table can be customized, and columns can be added/remove. For more information on how to customize this face-to-face filter, please contact Dual Code.
