Learners can apply for course equivalencies if they feel they have already taken a course that meets the objectives of a course offered by your organization. Once a learner applies for an equivalency, the learning environment will send you an email notification and it is then up to you, their supervisor, to accept or reject their application.
Note that other individuals in the organization with a senior role may also be able to accept / reject applications for course equivalencies, such as someone in charge of Human Resources or Occupational Health and Safety.
To apply for an equivalency:
- Go to Navigation > Equivalencies
- Click on the "Apply" button near the bottom of the page
- Fill out the form in question. You can also upload a copy of your certificate of completion in PDF format if you'd like.
- Click on "Apply".
This will send an email to your supervisor asking them to accept your request.
To accept (or reject) someone's application:
- Go to Navigation > Equivalencies
- In the "Equivalencies to review" section of the web page, review the application(s) in question.
- Click on the accept or reject button in the last column
- If you are rejecting the application, you may specify a reason to explain why the application was rejected.

When learners apply for an equivalency, they must now select the supervisor to send the equivalency email request to. While all supervisors can approve or deny the request, only one (1) supervisor will now be emailed. This is to prevent the system from emailing multiple users in healthcare organizations such as hospitals where an employee might have multiple supervisors.
