There are times when you want to find out which language strings have been customized on your learning environment (e.g. were modified and are not the defaults in the product). This can be useful for example if you want to deploy your site and French and want to make sure that all language strings customized in English are also customized in French.

Step-by-step Guide

To determine which language strings have been customized:

  1. Go to Site Administration > Language > Language Customization
  2. Open the language pack in question
  3. Select all the components in the list and check the "Customized only" checkbox
  4. Click on the "Show strings" button

Important Notes

  • If one of your customized strings has since been modified in the learning environment by Dual Code (in the "out of the box" product), the customized strings will be highlighted in yellow as per the screenshot below and will include a "mark as up-to-date" checkmark. You can click on the ? icon next to the "mark as up-to-date" checkmark to learn more about updating your local customizations.
