Learning records are digital proofs of completion that a learner has completed either a learning activity, course, or program. Learning records are stored in a Learning Record Store (LRS).
The LRS is the authoritative database that logs all learning records. A learning record looks as per the following:
John Smith completed WHMIS on December 31, 2018
Once a learning record is stored in the LRS, it can never be altered or deleted. This requirement is in line with numerous specifications that Dual Code adheres to, including for example Title 21 CFR Part 1, a the section of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) that deals with Food and Drug Administration (FDA) guidelines on electronic records and electronic signatures in the United States and Canada. While administrators and instructors with special permissions can void learning records, these records can always be recovered by unvoiding them.
