Adding a Description Inside the Series

Generally speaking, after you create a course shell, you would add activities and resources to the course. Series however do not generally have any activities. They simply point to existing courses. If people enter the “Series” course however, it’s a good idea to provide them with a description of the series and let them know which courses it contains.

Step-by-step Guide

1. Go to the course in question

2. Click on “Turn editing on” (if it’s not already enabled)

3. Click on the three dots next to “Topic 1” and select “Edit Topic”

4. Next to “Section name”, enable “Custom” and enter a name like “Overview”

5. In the “Summary”, provide a summary that will be displayed to the user when they enter the series course.

   1. This summary can be the same as the “Course summary” you used when creating the course. You may also want to list in a bullet point format the courses that the series includes

6. Click on “Save changes” to save the series
