Adding an OCI Course to One of Your Courses or Programs

If you need your users to take an OCI course (e.g. the course developed by another organization is mandatory and is offered via the OCI Marketplace), you can add it as an activity to one of your existing courses (in your learning environment) using the "OCI Course" activity. Once the "OCI Course" activity is added to your course, you can add it to any program just like any other course. This allows you to track completion of the course via the program completion report, the progress report, and the compliance report.

Step-by-step Guide

To add an "OCI Course" activity to a course in your learning environment:

  1. Go to the course in question

  2. Turn editing on (if it is not turned on already)

  3. Click on the "Add an activity or resource" hyperlink

  4. Select the "OCI Course" activity

  5. Click on the Add button

  6. Give your activity a "Name" (generally the same name as the 3rd party's course title)

  7. Select the course in the "Course" field

  8. If the course requires a license key, you can enter the key in the corresponding field. (If the course does not require a key, you can leave the field empty.)

  9. Under Activity Completion > Completion Tracking, select "Show activities as complete when conditions are met"

    1. Note that this means that the learner will automatically get a checkmark when he/she meets the completion criteria defined by the 3rd party offering the course

  10. Click on the save button at the bottom of the page

Below is sample video that demonstrates the steps above with "Bloody Easy Lite" from ORBCoN. Note that this procedure can be used for any course offered via OCI.
