Troubleshooting Green Checkmarks

Problem

One or more users claim that they have completed a course but are not getting their green checkmark.

Solution

The solution depends on whether one (1) user is complaining or all users are complaining. If all users are complaining, you should be making sure that completion tracking is properly configured as per this article. If only a few users are complaining:

  1. Go to the course in question

  2. Go to Course Administration > Reports > Completion status

  3. Find the user in question.

    1. If you can't find the user, it means they're not enrolled in the course with a role of “student”.

  4. Identify what activity the user has not completed.

If a user does not have a full green circle next to a specific activity, it means they did not meet the criteria for that specific activity. For example, in the screenshot below, U. Alex did not complete the final quiz and therefore did not complete the course. 

How you troubleshoot the rest of the problem depends on which activity is incomplete. In other words, troubleshooting why someone did not complete a quiz vs. a SCORM file vs. a survey is different.
