Attaching a Site-level Certificate to Courses in Bulk

After converting a course-level certificate to a site-level certificate, you will most likely want to attach this certificate to courses. While this can be done one-time course at a time, we recommend leveraging the "Uploading Courses in Bulk" functionality to do it in bulk.

Step-by-step Guide

To attach a site-level certificate to many courses at once:

  1. Download the "Course Shell Export" report to CSV

  2. Go to Site Administration > Courses > Upload courses

  3. Click on "Choose a file..." and select the file you downloaded in step 1 above

  4. Under "Upload mode", select "Only update existing courses"

  5. Under "Update mode", select "Update with CSV data and defaults"

  6. Click on the "Preview" button

  7. While in preview mode, scroll down to the "Course completion site certificate" field and select the certificate in question

  8. Click on "Upload courses" at the bottom of the page

The courses in the CSV file have all been updated with the site-level certificate.

Important Notes

  • If these courses were using a certificate as an activity, you should delete the activities from these courses.
