Monitoring Scheduled User Tasks

Scheduled user tasks may fail from time to time. As such, it's important that you monitor them. Thankfully, the system has event monitoring rules in place that you can subscribe to. Once subscribed to an event monitoring rule, you will receive an email if that event should ever take place.

There are 3 types of events related to monitoring scheduled user tasks:

  • User Upload Success. The scheduled user upload process completed successfully without any errors.

  • User Upload Failure. The scheduled user upload failed to complete. This may be due to a missing CSV source file, or a connectivity error between the system and the secure FTP server where the CSV file is hosted.

  • User Upload Partial Failure. The scheduled user upload completed, but there were some errors. This may be due to missing information in the CSV file (e.g. user records are missing mandatory fields such as username or email address).

As the administrator for your system, you can subscribe to these events by following the step-by-step guide below.

Step-by-step guide

To register to any of the monitoring rules above:

  1. Go to Site Administration > Reports > Event Monitoring Rules

  2. Click on the "Event Monitoring" hyperlink near the bottom of the page (see screenshot below for its exact location)

  3. Click on the + symbol next to the event you want to subscribe to.
